Imaginative Year 2s

Wk beginning: 23.01.17

Congratulations to our pupil of the week,  for challenging himself in numeracy!

Using numeracy resources well! Thank you Friends of the Priory School!

This week we have been looking at fantasy stories. We read character description and setting descriptions and tried to draw a setting based on what we had read. We soon realised how important adjectives are.

We then jumped into an imaginary setting, we thought about nouns, adjectives and verbs to describe what was happening and what we could see. As a class we then wrote a setting description and tried to add in some correct punctuation……..wait till you see below what they came up with!

In Maths we have been learning about place value and completing pyramid challenges. Well done to Oscar, who wanted to further challenge himself, he used the maths resources to help him solve an extra hard problem.

Spellings will be completed tomorrow and a mental maths on number bonds to 10/20/100. I feel children have forgotten these!  E.g. 3 + 7 = 10      13 + 7 = 20     30 +70 = 100. I will test them on the number bonds this week and next week to see how they have improved.

Again thank you for all your continued support

A magical setting
