Class 5 took part in an excellent coaching session last week as we looked back at one of our Maths assessment papers. We nominated nine pupils as coaching ‘masters’, as they had scored very good marks on the trick reasoning paper 2. Their job was to coach their classmates on the questions which they found challenging. It was a very successful lesson, with pupils taking responsibility for their learning and developing their understanding. It was also a real challenge for the nine pupils coaching, as they stepped into the role of the ‘teacher’ and found that it was often necessary to adapt their explanations to help their peers!
