Class 5 enjoyed a fantastic visit to Chesil Beach yesterday, to support their ‘Coast to Coast’ topic. We arrived and were shown into the Education Room at the Chesil Beach Centre, where we met Marc, who was our activity leader for the day. He showed us a fascinating video of how the beach was formed and told us about some of the unique wildlife which exists in the area.
We then ventured out into the wind and rain to explore the beach, before returning to the centre for lunch and visits to the gift shop. In the afternoon, we were set the challenge of being ‘beach scavengers’, as we went outside again (in much warmer and dryer conditions) to find various items on the beach, including sharks egg pouches. We then discussed these with Marc, before making our way back to the coach and returning to school.
Class 5 showed very good behaviour throughout the day and we would like to thank Mrs McEwen, Mrs Pearson and Mr Pearson for joining us as parent-helpers.
