Hello everyone, it was lovely to see some of you at parents evening last week. If you couldn’t make your slot-feel free to schedule a meeting with me after school.
In maths this week, we are revising our four calculations, as well as moving on to dividing 2 digits by 1 digit numbers by the end of the week. In our times tables test on Friday-group 1 will be tested on their 9, 11 and 12 and group 2 will be tested on their 9’s and 11’s. I have also allocated some new mymaths homework, so get working when you have a free moment at home!
In writing, we have created a kenning poem based on Arthur’s sword, and will be focusing on improving and extending sentences using descriptive language throughout the rest of the week. We will also be working on including speech marks in our writing. As it is World Book Day on Thursday, we will be reviewing our favourite book in class-so if you have a book in mind that you’d like to review you can bring it along!
In our topic we will be exploring the smuggling cycle, and the process of bringing various goods into the country. In science, we will be investigating reflective surfaces and designing our own book bag. In PHSCE, we will be talking about friendship and positive relationships.
Here are some pictures from our work on our Smuggling topic last week, class 3 explored a range of different evidence from receipts to newspaper extracts.
