With the Spring Term over, we can reflect on a terrific term of learning in Class 5. Pupils have really enjoyed the ‘Black Gold’ topic, which has inspired some fantastic writing and purposeful learning in geography, as well as some important moral discussion and debate around energy production and its effect on the environment.
We have also been very impressed with learning in Maths, as pupils have developed their reasoning skills and got better at their times tables and basic skills. Science has also been a real highlight, with our ‘Fantastic Forces’ topic and numerous practical lessons, which has seen the creation of paper helicopters, rocket mice, marble runs and water rockets! Pupils have really developed their art skills in the Picasso unit and we have some wonderful work up on display in the classroom, as well as in sketch books.
Sadly, we have had to say thank you and farewell this week to our student teacher, Mrs Erdbeer, whose placement at Priory School has ended. In addition, Miss Druce and Mrs Young will no longer be TAs in our classroom next term. We made class cards for all of the departing adults, which were presented in worship.
Looking ahead, the Summer 1 curriculum newsletter will be published during the first week back, with our new topic titled ‘Coast to Coast’. We would like to wish everybody a very restful and enjoyable Easter break.
