Week beginning 29/10/18

Congratulations to our pupil’s of the week who were chosen for their resilience in there writing, there writing was the most improved. Well done!

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely half term. We have had a great start back. The children have been reading and learning the poem ‘The Cave of Curiosity’.

To get them excited, we created a cave for the children to go into and find lots of curiosities. They then came up with abstract nouns to describe what they had seen.

In Maths we have continued to learn about addition and subtraction. We have then looked at applying what we have learnt to solve problems in different ways.

Friday Immersion day – During the day we found facts about Europe. We visited different areas with facts about different countries in Europe, including England. Next the children were shown a map of England showing light pollution. We discussed why certain areas had more light pollution than others. We then focused on London and chose a significant building in London that would cause light pollution to create using junk modelling.

In computing we have begun to look at algorithms and computer programming.

Have a wonderful weekend.
