THE BLITZED BRITS!

Week beginning: 25/3/19

Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely half term.

We have been hearing about the half terms in our writing lessons where children have been writing flashbacks of their half term. We have introduced our text, which is a recount featuring flashbacks to times in the past. We have looked at how the tense changes and have begun to learn the text of by heart.

In maths we have been learning more about equivalent fractions and mixed fractions.

On the first day back we had an fantastic starter, where the children got to explore their new topic. They created silhouette paintings, learnt Morse code, created posters, role played the blitz and looked at artefacts from the war.

We have also begun to create our world war 2 helmets. We looked at what the purpose of the helmets were and how we could determine what a successful helmet is. After discussion, we created a design criterion.

Homework will not be sent out until the 11th March to give us more time to complete our projects. If you have not yet done this, please see the class page for more detail.

We are excited for the children’s trip on Monday. If you arrive at school for 8, we will register the children and then set off for 8.15.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Miller
