Week beginning 9/9/19

Well done to our pupils of the week. This week one child was chosen for her resilience. She managed to do her learning with her left hand, despite being right handed! The other pupil of the week, was chosen for her presentation and great explanation of her maths journaling.

In writing this week, we have continued to learn our text about the nightmare man. We identified features of a suspense story and looked at the boxing up pattern.

In RE, we looked at lots of images and objects to do with celebration. The children discussed what they could see, what they think and what they wonder.

In whole class reading, we have been reading the story, A Lion, a witch and a wardrobe. We have been looking at inferring what a character is like by looking at the things they say and do.

In Maths, we have been continuing to learn about place value. The children have been explaining their thinking really well.

In PE we have continued with gymnastics. Next week, we will start athletics, outside on a Monday.

Home work this week is to back their maths and English home learning books. I also added in a comprehension and spellings into their English book. All spellings and times table focusses, will be on the class page.

Have a wonderful weekened.

Mrs Miller
