This week in maths we are continuing to work on our column addition and subtraction, as well as using other methods to add and subtract numbers-such as number bonds and number lines. We will continue to revise our place value and discuss why this is so important.
In writing, we will begin our invention of our text ‘The Way Back Home’. Later in the week, we will perform our story map for one of the younger classes.
In D & T, we have designed and labelled our airplanes and will begin constructing them on Friday. In history, we will learn to understand the significance of the day the first plane flew and create a newspaper article in groups about this. In our science, we will continue to explore gravity and will be moving on to creating rocket mice next week (each child will need a plastic empty milk carton for this experiment).
Tomorrow morning, we will have an arts and crafts workshop in class based around our learning on Flight. I will upload some photos of this later in the week.
