Well done to our pupil of the week who was chosen for his communication in reading. He is great at exploring ideas and putting his ideas across. He was able to also explain why you would read speech in different ways.
This week we have been so lucky, we have had lots of fun engaging hooks to get us excited about our new topic. The first day we had a visit from Southern electricity who taught us all about how electricity gets to our homes and how we can ensure we stay safe.
In our actual science lessons, we began to learn about circuits, static and current electricity, mains and battery powered electricity and electrical symbols.
In writing, we were introduce to our new text. We learnt about abstract nouns and nouns and learnt how we can put them together to create exciting sentences. We then went into the cave of curiosity and saw what was in there. The children cam up with some great ideas: Sophie saw a cup of Chaos.
In Maths, we have been solving number problems to do with addition and subtraction. The children are becoming much better at explaining the methods they have chosen and why.

In whole class reading, we have been looking at expression and how character might say what they are saying and why. The children also inferred how one of the main character might be feeling when he realised Narnia did exist. They made the face expression that he could have made.
In our topic learning/Gem Jar reward, we played with LEGO we do and practised coding. We designed significant London bridges, thinking of a design criteria and began to build our structures.
Thank you so much for all your support with junk modelling.
Have a lovely weekend.
