Class 5 had an interesting problem-solving lesson this week, as they entered the classroom to find three tables with a number of chocolate bars on them. They had to decide where to sit if they entered the room one at a time and got to share the chocolate on the table with others sitting there. We had to consider which fraction of a chocolate bar was greater, e.g. 3/4 or 2/3. It got very tricky as more and more children sat down, with the fractions becoming fifths, ninths and even thirteenths! Pupils were rewarded for their efforts with a taste of the chocolate (which of course we shared equally)
