Spelling home learning
This week’s spelling looks at the sounds ‘ai’, ‘ee’ and ‘igh’ which we have been learning in school. What is special about the ‘igh’ sound? – It is a trigraph! (it has three letters but it only makes one sound).
What to do:
- Read the words to your grown up. Remember to use your robot arms to help you break down the sounds (e.g. r-ai-n = rain)
- Can you spot the digraph (ai, ee, igh) in each word? Add the sound buttons to each word
- Challenge – can you write any of the words in a sentence? (e.g. I see a bright light.)
Maths home learning:
This week, we have been learning to use part, part whole models to show our number bonds to 10. Can you complete the following part, part whole questions? (you can draw your own).
Challenge- Can you write a number sentence for each model? e.g. 5+4 = 9 Extra challenge! – can you think of your own part, part whole models?
