We have had another busy week in Class R! This week we were looking at the book Spinderella ( a spider who wants to learn to count for her football team) by Julia Donaldson. We have been adding and halving spiders and playing football and tallying the goals scored. We also acted out the story, which contained lots of fantastic maths language. We used the chrome books to help with our independent learning.

Next week we are really lucky to have an author, Laurie Newman, to come and read her story all about Jessie the Jellyfish. It has a great conservation theme and will fit perfectly with our next term’s topic all about sea life. I also taught Laurie at the Priory School! On Wednesday the children will be doing a craft workshop around this theme and we have been asked if the children can bring in 3/4 unrecyclable bits of plastic (crisp packets/chocolate bar wrappers/vegetable packs etc.) It promises to be an exciting week!

Our Learners of the Week last week were Evie and Lucy S, who always try their very best and show a fantastic attitude to learning. (Sorry, I forgot to put it on the blog).

Our Learner of the Week this week is Patrick, who is trying really hard with his reading – well done, Patrick.

We have been busy watching our plants grow. Our caterpillars have now turned into chrysalis..
Sebby made a fantastic symmetrical butterfly in Let’s Explore.
So did Lucy S.
