English:

Over the next few weeks we will be learning the story of, ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’. Please find attached a copy of the text and the map. Next week, we will be working on key spellings from the text to support our writing in class. These words are: once, there, his, they, was, so, said, the , one and were. If you can, please practise these spellings at home.

So far this year, we have learnt about the ladder letters and curly caterpillar letters. We have been discussing the difference between ascenders and descenders and upper case and lower case letters. By the end of the Autumn Term we will have worked on one armed robot letters and the zig zag monsters. In order to be achieving ‘age-related expectations’ your child will need to be forming all letters correctly. Please support your child with this at home.
