School Sports at Home Week – Resources (20th – 26th June)

To replace our usual sports days, we are joining the Youth Sport Trust and Sky Sports to help young people and families up and down the country engage in a week of virtual sporting challenges. The Youth Sport Trust is taking its annual National School Sport Week campaign beyond the school gates to parents and families – reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.

Taking place next week from 22nd to 26th June, the UK-wide campaign will give families, communities, schools and sports clubs the chance to capture the enjoyment, competition and camaraderie they have been missing out on during weeks of school closures and social distancing.

With social distancing in place, pupils and staff (both at home and in school) can take part in the sports week by setting up various sporting activities for the children to compete in daily. Attached is a copy of the timetable and a recording sheet.

What is the plan?

  • Each day choose any of the activities suggested on the timetable for that day (each day has a particular theme)
  • You may choose to repeat one of the activities throughout the week to see if you can improve on your personal best
  • Capture the moment and send photos to the helpdesk so that your achievements can be celebrated

Good luck and have fun!

11 Ingenious Ways to Keep Kids Active When Stuck Inside - Modern ...

Dear Team Priory,
During this time of lockdown we are joining the Sport England Stay in and Workout movement. The link to their movement page is below and it has lots of ideas for workouts inside and outside during this time.

https://www.sportengland.org/stayinworkout

At the Priory we have lots of creative, active children who will be able to produce their own ideas. We want you to share these ideas with classmates, teammates, school and community. We are launching the tag #TeamPrioryPEChallenge to show us what you are up to. When adults use twitter, please tag using the #TeamPrioryPEChallenge and #stayinandworkout.

We look forward to seeing all these great ideas and once again, Team Priory rising to the challenge!
